Have you heard about the latest update to The Employment Relations Act?

It’s time to talk about the Personal Grievance Update!

The Employment Relations (Extended Time for Personal Grievance for Sexual Harassment) Amendment Bill passed its third reading on 7 June 2023, and came into law on 13 June 2023.

Let’s dive in and understand what this means for you!

The amendment ensures even more robust protection for employees when it comes to personal grievance claims. This means if an employee is to ever face a situation in the workplace that involves sexual harassment, they will now have 12 months to raise their personal grievance to their employer.

All other personal grievance claims remain at 90 days to raise.
